The week after SEMA, Nov. 10th-13th: ASET, the number one distributor of Anest Iwata products in North America, put on an Open House/Kustom Paint workshop at their newest training facility in SLC, Utah. Not just your average open house, they boasted a Hands-On Kustom Paint Workshop that would rival any currently in the industry. With 11 of the top kustom painters in the industry, this three day event was so successful, that they will be hosting it annually, with a rumor of it being a Spring/Fall bi-annual event. The event started on Wed with the official open house showing off the new training facility, and top of the line $250,000 spray booth system. The open house also consisted of the 11 featured artists displaying their creativity, and specialized style by working on a 4'x6' piece of artwork to be permanently displayed at the facility. The kustom painters in attendance that gave both paint demos, and hands-on clinics were as follows: Steve Vandemon, Steve Driscoll, Deborah Mahann, Bob Soroka, Dennnis Mathewson, Ryan Templeton, Dean Loucks, Jason Doll, Ed Birmingham, Giuliano Rapetti, and your's truly Craig Fraser. Some of the manufacturers in attendance that sponsored the event, demonstrated, and sold new products were: Medea/Iwata, Artool, Alsacorp, Dupont Hot Hues, Anest Iwata, and Airbrush Art Magazine. With representation at this show from over 8 states, and three continents, it was one of the most diverse displays of kustom painting, in a workshop-based program ever. Check out the pics below, and keep a space on your calendar for next year to attend. See you there next time!
